A Night to Remember
The Rotary eClub Ibiza International had the honor of attending the Hand-over Party hosted by Rotary Club Calvia International at the picturesque Boutique Hotel Portals Hills in Mallorca., Thursday 27th June 2024
This annual event marked the end of the Rotary year, where the current president handed over the reins to the incoming president, setting the stage for a new year filled with opportunities and community service.

Highlights from the Event
The evening was filled with joy and fellowship, beginning with a warm welcome from Rotary Club Calvia International, our mother club. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as members reflected on their accomplishments and expressed gratitude for the collective efforts that made these achievements possible.
Outgoing President Mrs. Nicola Ihden was awarded the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) for her outstanding leadership over the past year. Her tenure saw the club raise over €40,000 through various fundraising events, including packing 350 dignity bags with essential sanitary items for the homeless and needy. Additionally, the club organized charity walks and a peace communication training in schools under the mentorship of member Kate Mentink.
Incoming President Mrs. Vivienne Lorenzen presented her vision for the upcoming year, introducing the new board of directors and outlining the club’s goals.
The evening continued with heartfelt speeches, laughter, and dancing, celebrating the strong bonds formed through service and fellowship.
Memorable Moments and Takeaways
One of the standout moments was the evident camaraderie and good humor among the attendees. The members of Rotary Club Calvia International were proud of their successful projects and welcomed us with open arms, expressing their eagerness to attend our charter party on September 6th.
Assistant District Governor Mr. Jordi Cubain’s presence added a special touch to the event, underscoring the unity and support within the Rotary community.
Learning and Connecting
We connected with many members of Rotary Club Calvia International, strengthening the bond between our clubs. The evening highlighted that Rotary is not only about service but also about having fun and making lasting friendships.
We were inspired by many of their initiatives, and look forward to implementing simple yet impactful projects that align perfectly with our mission to support those in need within our community.
Personal Reflections
Reflecting on the event, it was clear that the support from Rotary Club Calvia International was invaluable. We felt deeply welcomed and appreciated, reinforcing the importance of solidarity within Rotary. The personal hospitality extended to us, including being hosted in the apartment of a member, further exemplified the generous spirit of the club.
The Hand-over Party at Rotary Club Calvia International was a beautiful reminder of the strength and unity within Rotary. We left feeling inspired, motivated, and excited about the year ahead. The insights and connections we gained will undoubtedly benefit our ongoing projects and initiatives, and we look forward to continued collaboration and friendship with Rotary Club Calvia International.
