Rotary eClub Ibiza International (ReCII) Celebrates Its Charter Lunch at Es Nautic, San Antonio
Ibiza, 7th November 2024
The Rotary e-Club Ibiza International (ReCII) celebrated its official chartering this Thursday with an inspiring lunch at Es Nautic in San Antonio, setting the stage for a new wave of Rotary service on Ibiza. Amidst the picturesque marina views, the event marked an exciting milestone for Rotary’s growing presence on the island.
As the second Rotary club on Ibiza, ReCII connects to a global family of over 1.4 million members across more than 46,000 clubs worldwide, all dedicated to the principle of “Service Above Self.” With English as its primary language, ReCII is uniquely positioned to engage and empower Ibiza’s international community, working alongside the established Rotary Club Ibiza, founded in 1981. Together, the clubs share a mission to support local initiatives, inspire positive change, and address the island’s diverse needs.
District Governor Dimas Rizzo honored the occasion by presenting the official charter letter, delivering a heartfelt speech in both English and Spanish that underscored the club’s inclusive vision. This bilingual address resonated with the diverse gathering, emphasizing the commitment to fostering unity across cultures within the Rotary community.
Founding President Denise Klischan, sharing the club’s vision, said,
“We’re thrilled to celebrate our charter here in Ibiza. Rotary’s mission is to make positive change happen, and we look forward to collaborating with fellow Rotarians on the island to support Ibiza’s unique needs.”
Klischan’s words reflected the club’s goals, which include initiatives such as youth mentorship, environmental conservation, and partnerships with local organizations to make a lasting impact.
Adding a warm touch to the event, Councillor for Social Welfare, Carolina Escandell Ferrer, delivered an uplifting speech, applauding the club’s mission and goals. The lunch was further enriched by the presence of NGO representatives, including Juan Torres from Caritas, Manuel Marin from the Red Cross, and Myriam Martin and Josefa Suñer from ADDIF, each sharing a passion for community service.
ReCII was also honored to welcome six esteemed guests from its “Mother Club,” Rotary Calvia International from Mallorca, whose presence underscored the strong Rotary ties between the islands. Their attendance was a reminder of the supportive network that Rotary offers, connecting clubs near and far to champion shared goals of community service and goodwill.
The gathering at Es Nautic brought together a vibrant mix of members, supporters, and Rotary leaders, all united by their dedication to uplifting Ibiza’s community. Rotary eClub Ibiza International warmly invites new members from across the island to bring their skills, ideas, and passion for making a difference—one community, one project at a time.
