On a warm summer day, July 8th, 2024, the Rotary E-Club Ibiza International (ReCII) made a significant contribution to the local community by delivering essential baby equipment to the Red Cross Ibiza. 

This initiative was a result of a generous subsidy provided by Rotary District 2203, aimed at empowering new clubs to make impactful contributions within their communities. 

Making a Difference

ReCII reached out to Mr. Manuel Marin, the director of Red Cross Ibiza, to identify pressing needs that could be met with the €1,000 grant. 

The response highlighted a critical area of support: assisting mothers who struggle to afford basic baby equipment. 

In response, ReCII purchased and delivered nine baby cribs and eleven baby carriers to the Red Cross.

A Day to Remember

The delivery day was marked by heartfelt interactions with two dedicated Red Cross workers, Verena and Clara, who shared their experiences working on the front lines. 

Their stories were both touching and inspiring, underscoring the incredible impact that community support can have. 

They expressed immense gratitude for ReCII’s contributions, highlighting how these items would make a tangible difference in the lives of many families.

Community Impact and Future Aspirations

This event not only provided immediate relief to families in need but also strengthened the bond between ReCII and the local Red Cross. 

The collaboration sparked ideas for future initiatives and potential projects that could further support the community. 

The experience reinforced ReCII’s commitment to service and showcased the power of collective effort in driving positive change.

Personal Reflection

For Denise Klischan, President of ReCII, and Ignacio Revilla Alonso, Speaker Organizer, the event was a powerful reminder of the importance of community service. 

Their favorite part was witnessing the joy on the faces of the Red Cross staff and imagining the smiles these contributions would bring to the families.
